Quality
In terms of quality, MoonSwatch has absolutely nothing in common with the original. The overall quality of the quartz timepiece just cannot compare. The original Moonwatch is an absolute delight. The lume is satisfactory, but does not match that of the original. The case material does offer an unanticipated surprise, however; it’s made of Swatch’s exclusive Bioceramic, a mixture of ceramic and synthetic materials. This offers the watch an unexpectedly good feeling on the wrist. The MoonSwatch weighs just 29 g, making it a tremendously lightweight timepiece compared to steel models. The Velcro strap is well executed and fits the overall vibe of the watch to a T.
Though there are drawbacks that play into this price bracket, it still has the Speedmaster’s iconic look and dimension, features small details inspired by the real thing, and comes in rarely seen colors.
Even if there are far better watches available at this price point, the quality is fine for the money. You will get an original Speedmaster look, and that is certainly a major selling point for the MoonSwatch.
